Forest School is guided by four essential pillars: Choose, Explore, Play, and Create. These principles provide the foundation for a dynamic learning environment where children can grow at their own pace, developing independence, confidence, and creativity. Rooted in nature-based learning, these pillars foster holistic development by encouraging active engagement with the natural world and with peers. At Forest School, these core values ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive, discover, and express themselves freely in a supportive, enriching setting.
Children at Forest School are empowered to make their own choices. Whether deciding which tools to use, which path to explore, or how to approach a challenge, they are given the freedom to take control of their learning. This fosters independence, responsibility, and confidence in their decision-making abilities.
Exploration is at the heart of Forest School. Children are encouraged to wander, observe, and discover the wonders of the natural world around them. Through unstructured exploration, they develop curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a deeper connection with the environment.
Play is an essential part of learning at Forest School. Through imaginative and physical play, children experiment with ideas, work together with peers, and engage in creative problem-solving. Play builds social skills, resilience, and a sense of joy in learning.
Forest School inspires creativity as children use natural materials to craft, build, and express themselves. Whether building shelters, making art from nature, or inventing new games, children learn to bring their ideas to life. Creating nurtures innovation, collaboration, and a sense of accomplishment.
Guided Wild is dedicated to nurturing the innate curiosity and resilience of children through immersive, nature-based learning experiences. Our mission is to foster a deep connection between young minds and the natural world, empowering them to explore, play, create, and grow with autonomy.
Designed to complement home education, this program focuses on hands-on activities that teach essential Forest School skills like tool use, shelter building, fire safety, plant identification, and navigation.
The Full Time Summer Experience encompasses all four thematic blocks—Animal Homes, Insect Discovery, Water Play, and Nature Art—offering a holistic journey through nature’s classroom.
The School Year Program is an integrated learning experience that fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in the constantly changing canvas of the outdoors.
Our program operates on a long-term basis, providing families with flexible options. By revisiting the same natural woodland environment, we create a conducive space for building upon prior knowledge and fostering deeper understanding.
Our primary focus is on promoting holistic development in our students. Social skills emerge as children interact with peers from different groups, encouraging inclusivity and cooperation. To nurture emotional growth, we empower them to discuss strategies for self-regulation, compromise, and problem-solving, fostering resilience and empathy.
